Contact Lens: What you think VS What it is
1. CONTACT LENSES CAN GET LOST BEHIND THE EYE
It is not possible for contact lens to get into the back of the eye, there is a membrane (fornix) inside the eye that separates the external part of the eye from the internal part, thereby preventing entry of anything into the back of the eye. So your contacts lens can never get into the eye.
2. CONTACT LENSES ARE UNCOMFORTABLE
Contact lens has evolved over the years. We now have soft-gel contact lenses that have high water content and extremely thin. They are comfortable and can be worn for extended period of time. Rigid gas permeable lenses now come in hybrid. They are also very comfortable to wear.
3. CONTACT LENSES ARE TOO COMPLEX TO TAKE CARE OF
In order to maximize the use of contacts lens while also preventing infection, proper hygiene is required before during and after wear, however, daily disposable contact lens has less hygienic requirement, you only wear it one day and dispose – You can opt in for this.
4. I CANNOT WEAR CONTACT LENSES MYSELF
Contact lens is easy to wear. At Supreme Vision Eye Clinic, we will lecture on how to manage contact lens properly which involves wearing, removal and maintenance of your contacts.
5. CONTACTS CAN POP OUT OF MY EYE
When you wear your contact lens appropriately (properly fitted and centrally placed on the cornea), contact lens can never pop out of the eye. Also, there are some parameters that determine your exact contact lens wear, you should also wear your exact measurements ( parameters). Make sure you do a proper contact lens test before you wear one.
6. I’M TOO OLD TO WEAR CONTACT LENSES
This is not true. Contact lenses now come in both single vision and multifocal.
Therefore there are contacts lenses that suit your need even at your old age.
